The contribution of Kraftwerk on modern music is one that is singular. Even fifty years later, the famed German act proved that life on the “Autobahn” is as fresh as it was half a century ago.
Pay no attention to the copy and paste nature of the same setlist on the US tour. We all should be so lucky to be on the live stage at this late stage of life. What’s not talked often enough about Kraftwerk is the level of intricacy of the electronic pioneers’ live show.
The “Man Machine” quartet incorporates different visuals for each track spanning from older stock footage of the famed Tour de France race to computer graphics that appear to have been lifted off of a driving simulation that came with a steering wheel that from the late ’80s.
After witnessing the flashing lights, sonic glitches, and reverberating beats, the profound influence Ralf and the boys exerted on popular culture via the electronic genre is undeniable.
