Jeff Tweedy goes “Warm”

Jeff Tweedy is going soft in his old age, or dare I say, “Warm?” The bespectacled frontman is taking a break from all things dad rock Wilco with a heavy focus on his new solo album, “Warm,” scheduled for delivery via dBpm Records November 30.

Based on the first sample of Tweedy’s solo effort, “Some Birds,” the Chicago troubadour keeps it safe with “Wilco-Lite” material. My secret hopes for something experimental, like when Jay Bennett use to occupy the studio with Jeff where they held each other accountable on many artistic levels. Watch the “Some Birds” video wherein you can see a “Chad” like version of Jeff Tweedy visiting his trusty stylist.

If that solo album isn’t enough Jeff Tweedy for your liking, look for “LET’S GO (SO WE CAN GET BACK): A Memoir of Recording and Discording with Wilco, Etc.,” out November 13th via Dutton which will hopefully have book-signings.
