The Mars Volta is on hiatus right now. That At the Drive-In reunion was a tease, so we have Bosnian Rainbows. And guess what? I’m ok with that. Omar Rodriguez-Lopez isn’t known for sitting on his ass, and got the ball rolling with the quartet as lead maestro, but the vocal duties are left to Les Butcherettes’ member, Teri Gender-Bender. The rest of the quartet involves drummer Deantoni Parks and keyboardist Nicci Kasper. The best part is that the music is completely accessible and unapologetic shredding from Omar is perfectly placed throughout “Torn Maps.” Can’t wait for the rest of their material to unfold.
