The seriousness that this UK duo exude is unlike anything ever seen or felt. The capacity crowd could have been, or maybe were on copious amounts of booze and/or drugs and their effects would not have been felt due to how loud (it was a good one) and unreal their dedication was to the music and the crowd.

Lykke Li and her traveling bullhorn made an appearance at a very early Emo’s. Or maybe it was just me. Either way, the group struck me as being very similar to Metric with a more dainty voice.

This evening was an evening to remember. All the sacrificing made by sticking around the Fort all day paid off and yielded higher than expected returns. I could have risked it all by leaving and attempting to come back, but I could see the lines outside snaking around the block, so we decided to stay. Every act did their take on Velvet Undgerground/Lou Reed material and the performances were stellar. I felt bad for some artists due to their inability to combat the heavily intoxicated belligerent crowd. So goes at SXSW.

I have to say that I liked his spoken word performance years ago when he opened up for the Mars Volta years ago. I haven’t listened to Niggy Tardust, but after seeing him perform various cuts from the album, I am curious. His cover of U2’s Sunday Bloody Sunday caused for a huge karaoke fest.
