Gregory Alan Isakov
Coloradoan (he’s really from South Africa, but for all intents and purposes, the guy rests his head to sleep here) is exploding with lots of great news. The punk folkie (he style was dubbed punk folk by the Indigo Girls) has a new album on the burner and a tour that starts with his album release party in Boulder. First on tap for Isakov is a KBCO Studio C appearance and a May 15th CD release show at Boulder, Colorado’s Fox Theatre. Look for the multi-instrumentalist on the road w/Brandi Carlile (she also makes an appearance on the record doing a Leonard Cohen Cover). Call me crazy, but the new album cover bears a striking resemblance to a children’s book that just won the John Newbery award. The name of the new release to hit the streets May 19th is, This Empty Northern Hemisphere.
