Stephen Malkmus is entering a third act in life as a solo artist.
Life without the Jicks is a reality as the follow up to the electronic heavy 2019 release, “Groove Denied,” is around the corner with “Traditional Techniques.”
Matador Records is scheduled to release the solo effort March 6. Last month we got a first sample with the single, “Xian Man,” a trippy ’70s jam that has all the feels of a lava lamp and velvet poster.
Today, French videographers from La Blogotheque in collaboration with Stephen Malkmus, released the second single from “Traditional Techniques” with “Brainwashed.” The video was shot in a cafe with disinterested French folk for authenticity.
In additional news, new tour dates have been added to the “Tradional Techniques” tour with Denver as the last date.
