The Underground Music Showcase 2019 starts today

The race is not to the swift, but to the one with the comfy shoes and Gold Bond to finish in one piece once said a very wise person.

The once sleepy music festival now full-blown festival titan started off as a locals-only affair. After many years, we now have international artists playing (we’re looking at you, Black Mountain). This year, we decided to stay to the tried and true, the heart and soul of the Underground Music Showcase, the locals.

Don Chicharron Showcase Stage @ Goodwill Saturday, Jul 27 4:00 PM – 4:40 PM

Denver’s cumbia team over at Don Chicharron successfully marry the traditional sounds of Colombia with playful tendencies inspired by the Beastie Boys.

Falcon Punch Blue Ice Saturday, Jul 27 1:00 PM – 1:40 PM

It’s criminal that Falcon Punch is scheduled so early on Saturday, but if you need a jump start that doesn’t involve Red Bull, be here. The producer specializes in “Dark Island Funk.”

Funk Hunk 3 Kings Tavern Saturday, Jul 27 7:00 PM – 7:40 PM

Look out for a dirty disco inferno with the likes of Funk Hunk; polyester pants not included.
