Kurt Vile seeks to “Bottle It In” with new album announcement

Kurt Vile and the Violators ::: Project Pabst ::: 05.20.17

Kurt Vile continues with his consistent stream of work with his eighth full-length album announced today titled, “Bottle In In.” Matador Records is scheduled to release the latest offering from the proud son of Philly October 12th. “Bottle It In” is the follow up to the Courtney Barnett collaboration released in 2017 titled “Lotta Sea Lice.”

Listen to the first single titled, “Bassackwards,” below. On the latest offering, Vile continues his trajectory as an excellent wordsman and embodying the face of what an American troubadour looks like today in the age of curated playlists.

The leader of the Violators chimes in about his inspiration behind the latest record:

“For a while I was terrified of flying, so I would be listening to whatever country songs I was obsessed with. I’d have George Jones blasting in my ears. Or, I would be reading something about country music. Or, I would start writing songs in that flash of being afraid, being swallowed by life. I’m up there on a plane drinking wine because like everybody else I’m afraid to die. And I wrote ‘Hysteria’ up there.”
