Danger Mouse is proving to be the muse that Parquet Courts accidentally stumbled upon. The Gnarls Barkley conspirator sculpted the new Parquet Courts sound to have a dance punk edge with the title track, “Wide Awake!” scheduled for a May 18 release via Rough Trade. The new direction can be pointed towards the collaboration with Bun B that yielded the hip hop inspired track, “Captive of the Sun.” The rhythmic piece makes me nostalgic for the days when Le Tigre dropped “Deceptacon.”
On the Brother Willis filmed video, fans can catch a glimpse of Parquet Courts all dressed up while creating a raucous stir in the Big Easy. Make sure to catch the guys on an extended tour with dates below.
