Adam Savage, the creative source behind Parquet Courts, is an unstoppable conduit of new music that’s constantly evolving and delivering quality jams. The sheer power and rawness of the latest single released today with “Almost Had To Start A Fight / In And Out Of Patience” picks up where the quartet left off in 2016 with the punchy album, “Human Performance.”
Parquet Courts’ musical output since 2011 is seven albums with the announcement of their forthcoming project, “Wide Awake,” scheduled for a May 18 release via Rough Trade. In perhaps even better news, the latest album was produced by Brian Burton. You know, Danger Mouse. Savage spoke about the new album and the unlikely pairing:
“The ethos behind every Parquet Courts record is that there needs to be change for the better, and the best way to tackle that is to step out of one’s comfort zone. I personally liked the fact that I was writing a record that indebted to punk and funk, and Brian’s a pop producer who’s made some very polished records. I liked that it didn’t make sense.”
