Ride & Lo Moon :::: Summit Music Hall ::: 09.20.17

A piece of Brit Pop royalty came through Denver last week with the visit from Ride. The shoegazing pioneers are celebrating their recently released album, “Weather Diaries,” out via Wichita Recordings. On the Erol Alkan produced effort, the trailblazing act delved into their early repertoire with a healthy mix of new material.

In no surprise, Mark Gardner and the guys felt most comfortable when performing their old takes with extended noodling and masterful drumming.

The real surprise of the night came in the form of Los Angeles outfit, Lo Moon. The West Coast act don’t have a formal EP or full album, just two singles with “This is It” and ” Loveless.” Matt Lowell, Crisanta Baker, and Sam Stewart channel an early Peter Gabriel post-Genesis vibe that sounds as fresh as ever. Thanks to Danny de Zayas over at From the Hip for the photos from Lo Moon.
