Cut Copy announced the name of their fifth album and release date of “Haiku From Zero” this morning. Astralwerks’ latest signee has teased new material over the last couple of months with the release of “Airborne.”
On top of announcing the latest project scheduled for release September 22, the Cutters also released a new single from the forthcoming album with the percussion heavy “Standing In The Middle Of The Field.”
Lead vocalist Dan Whitford chimed in about “Haiku From Zero” and some background:
“So much of this album is about this mosaic of information, images that we’re surrounded by on a day-to-day basis.” “Sometimes it feels like overload, but there’s a weird random beauty in it. The idea of squeezing poetry from chaos was where the title of the album came from – the idea of finding something poetic in the overload.”

Look for Cut Copy to hit the road for a Fall tour that comes to Denver in November. This will be the second time in 2017 that CC has visited the Mile High City with a summer visit as one of the headliners of the Westword Music Showcase.
