Bomba Estéreo announces new album “Ayo”

Bomba Estéreo has returned with a vengeance and a new album in tow with the announcement of “Ayo.” The new news of a fifth album comes on the heels of the Pedro Almodovar inspired video for “Duele.” The first track is easily passable for a noir Middle Eastern affair that you can cop digitally August 11 and physically sometime in September.

Bomba Estéreo founder Simon Mejia is quoted as saying about the latest offering:

“AYO was born in the Sierra Nevada de Santa Marta, one of the most powerful places in the world,” “The album title is a tribute to that magical place. A spiritual ceremony opened the path to this album. It returns to the Caribbean sonic roots of Bomba Estéreo while at the same time, keeps looking at the world with open eyes and open ears, taking risks on new paths.”

Look for the Colombians to come back to Denver with a little help from Canadians, Arcade Fire, this October at the Pepsi Center here in Denver.
