Grimes IS performance art at its finest. The immensely talented Canadian brought her best prom dress and laid it all on the line on the “Tonight Show” stage with Jimmy Fallon to perform the 2015 hit, “Flesh without Blood.” Claire Boucher is an artist of many talents and the use of vocoder was not found on stage. The whimsical sounding vocalist plucked her guitar, did her best fairy impression and fidgeted with the electronics onstage all while maintaining the upbeat energy with the stage dancers. Boucher brought her seizure inducing strobe lights to further reinforce the feeling of an art installation with a little bit of help. Grimes’ latest album, “Art Angels,” is out everywhere.
