There’s a lot going on in Cut Copy’s World. They have finished the recording of their new, as-yet-untitled, 3rd Album (due in early 2010), which they will mix with Ben Allen (Gnarls Barkley, Animal Collective) in Atlanta in August.
But before they do that, they have embarked on a world tour to play some new tunes and old favorites to festival-goers and clubbers alike.
In celebration of all this, the band have made a brand new song, “Where I’m Going,” available for the price of an email address. Go to their website (www.cutcopy.net), click the “Download A New Cut Copy Song” link, and you’re away. If you want it on vinyl, it will be released as a strictly limited, one-sided etched 7” in August.
“Where I’m Going,” was described by the band as “inspired by realizing your mistakes, marching to the beat of the Timelords, gone away truths, the swagger of O’Riley and everything left unsaid. When there is no comfort in hindsight, the best you can hope for is a poetic moment.” The guys are looking forward to sharing a good old chant with all of you.
