In this week’s chapter of “bands that sound like they’re from the UK, but they’re really from somewhere in the US”, we meet Mother/Father. The Nashville collective come across as a moodier Psychedelic Furs with more to prove. It’s curious that Mother/Father don’t consider themselves an ordinary band, but more as a bunch of artists making music, and rightfully so. The task of music creation is less daunting I imagine when the expectation isn’t all there. The end results are promising, and I can only hope they continue operating under that same notion. The post-punkers will be releasing their Jacquire King (Kings Of Leon, Modest Mouse, Tom Waits) produced EP, “Physical Heaven”, on May 18th. Check out the video to their single, “Order”, below.
