Yesterday, we found out that Gorillaz will be headlining the last night of Coachella. I felt like somebody had slapped me in the face. A fucking travesty, man. Pavement was robbed of the headlining spot on the final night because of Stephen Malkmus’s love/hate relationship w/Damon Albarn. But, I thought it through for a couple of moments. There’s all this hoopla around Pavement reuniting, but these festivals aren’t really the venue for a Pavement reunion. A lot of people are going to be underwhelmed and it will be Lollapalooza all over again. I hope I’m wrong, but my anger subsided once I thought through the lineup for Sunday night at Coachella.

The lead single off of Plastic Beach, the new album from Gorillaz (to be released by Virgin on March 9, 2010) was leaked today. Mos Def on “Stylo” is Mos Appreciated! I love his new element that he brings to the group. His superb flow ups the game and compliments Albarn’s vocals. Listen below and look at the impressive list of cameo’s on the tracklisting below.
