When I first visited the MySpace page for Edward Sharpe & the Magnetic Zero’s, I closed it down immediately on the basis of being too gimmicky. Ryan over at Muzzle of Bees won’t stop talking about them and based on his recommendation and fervent support of the group, I decided to give their album another whirl. Their sound is hard to nail, but the best I could come up with is a twangy Polyphonic Spree. The group will be in town this weekend for Monolith and one of the sets I eagerly anticipate. They played Letterman last week and watching their performance of Home just made me salivate even more for their show this weekend. You can check out their Daytrotter Session here.
