The coming weekend is going to be a jammed packed weekend of more music festivals. If the Mile High Music Festival wasn’t enough for you, you have two more coming up this weekend in the female centered DIY bonanza, Titwrench (you can buys a $25 3 day-pass here), and you have the UMS going from Thursday to Sunday (four days, $20).
TITWRENCH is a grass-roots, all-ages festival happening this July 24, 25, and 26 in Denver, Colorado. The event will showcase female artists on the cutting edge of art and music.
The brainchild of local DJ and curator, Sarah Slater, the First Annual TITWRENCH Fest began with a simple desire to see more avant-garde female artists performing and exhibiting in Denver. After putting a call out to friends, Slater has formed a solid group of artists now collaborating to make this long-standing dream a reality.
TITWRENCH goals are three-fold: cultivating and empowering ladies who make form and boundary-pushing music and art, creating a community to foster more projects and collaborations in the Denver scene and beyond, and being a positive and affirming experience for all of its participants as an inclusive, all-ages festival.
Music will be the central focus at TITWRENCH, and will exhibit styles ranging from folk, ambient, and psychedelic, to punk, noise, and thrash. The lineup is an exciting mix of local and international female artists. In addition, the fest will include dance, video art, fashion, crafts, and other locally made goods, vegetarian-friendly food, and a visual art show curated by local illustrator, artist and musician Brittany Gould (Married in Berdichev.)
