Ponytail is the new bangs. They are carrying the torch for Deerhoof if Deerhoof existed in an amazon jungle way over yonder in a giant tribe of fifty. The sometimes decipherable vocals from the ever so energetic Molly “Malibu” Siegel sounded like a Pokemon character, but not as annoying, but rather endearing. Their frenetic live shows aren’t a myth and they proved last night that the group has plenty of staying power and not just another blog fad. Their rhythmic live show proved to be better in person than with headphones, and the group has proven to be another notch on the musical belt that is Baltimore.
