Set your DVR’s or TIVO’s or maybe you just want to wait till it shows up on Youtube, but M83 will be appearing on Conan Jan. 27. The tour with the Killers starts here in Denver this Saturday and I will have more w/M83 later. I’ve been marinading on Digital Shades (vol. 1) for a while now, and though, this album is for fans only or fans of Brian Eno’s instrumental material, or maybe you just want something really really spaced out for when you’re winding the night down or particularly elevated. You can purchase the album here.

ARENA TOUR WITH THE KILLERS
CONFIRMED FOR JANUARY AND FEBRUARY

WE OWN THE SKY VIDEO CONTEST RUNNING NOW

Mute Records is proud to announce that M83 will be performing “Kim and Jessie,” on Late Night With Conan O’Brien January 27th. This performance marks another giant leap forward in what has been an exciting 10 months for the Antibes, France-based Anthony Gonzalez.

In addition to playing Madison Square Garden with the Killers on January 25th, M83 will play a solo show in New York at Irving Plaza on January 24th. This will be a rare and exclusive event with M83 playing an opening set of ambient music followed by the intense set M83 has been rocking in support of “Saturdays=Youth. A full tour schedule follows on the next page.

Released in April 2008, M83’s fifth album, Saturdays = Youth, has taken them to new heights, performing well at radio, receiving accolades from all corners of the media and selling more than the band has ever sold before. The year culminated in a sold-out fall tour, and 2009 promises to pick up where the band left off in December. “Kim and Jesse” is the album’s new single.

“Saturdays = Youth” debuted at #1 on the Billboard Top New Artist Heatseekers Chart, went to #1 on the CMJ Top 200, is the #1 record of 2008 at Urban Outfitters and received an NPR nomination for Album of the Year. The record also met with additional critical praise including an 8.5/10 review ranking from Pitchfork, and an 8/10 review ranking from Wired. It closed 2008 with multiple top album and top track nominations.

The video for “Kim and Jesse” ranked in the top-20 at MTV2 Subterranean/Paste Magazine’s Top 25 Videos of 2008. Mute is currently holding a video contest for the album’s upcoming single “We Own The Sky.” Entries must be submitted by January 20th. The winner will have their video debuted on Pitchfork TV.
