EAOD is releasing a new album that is going to knock your socks off, but more on that next week. Tonight, the guys will be doing an in-store at Twist and Shout (hopefully their first of many) and doing a listening party of their new album at Sputnik afterwards.

Wipe away the working week Friday, October 3 at 6 p.m. as local favorite Everything Absent or Distorted (a love story) celebrates the re- release of their acclaimed 2006 EP The Soft Civil War on glorious white vinyl with a special in-store performance at Twist & Shout. Everything Absent or Distorted (with members of Bela Karoli) will play an acoustic set of songs from The Soft Civil War as well as songs from their forthcoming full-length record The Great Collapse, due out at the end of this year.

About the vinyl re-release, lovingly reproduced on blinding white vinyl: Author Barry Osborne and illustrator Dylan Graham have joined forces with EAOD to produce a limited run of their mini comic “Skyscrapers, Parking Garages…”, to be included with every purchase of The Soft Civil War. Because, who couldn’t use a little fiction?

Also included in the LP:

*a digital download code for the entire EP
*an access code card for a download of “The Alchemist’s Last Words / Aquariums” from the forthcoming full length record The Great Collapse

And that’s not all, kids. That same night, join Everything Absent or Distorted at Sputnik (3 South Broadway) at 9 p.m. for an advance listening party for their keenly anticipated full length album The Great Collapse. DJs from Rabbit Is a Sphere will be on the ones and twos to keep the hits spinning right round. Oh, what a night!

About the band: Everything Absent or Distorted is a love story. The eight children of mammals came together through the combination of fate/cyberspace, prior bands, prior colleges, prior lives and Richard Pryor. Everything Absent or Distorted (EAOD) meshes a consortium of seemingly nonsensical instrumentation including trombone, multiple synthesizers, accordion, banjo, drums, violin, bass and as many guitars as possible, with great measure, to ratify a multitude of resolutions.
