Our beloved local baseball team, Colorado Rockies, pulled off what most thought was a pipedream: an appearance in the post-season. After some changes in the front office, the Rockies believe they have their man in general manager Jeff Bridich. Since the arrival of the Harvard educated suit, the “Blake Street Bombers” have been more amenable to making free agent acquisitions that make sense for the clubhouse. The most important additions to the team have been the bullpen help and a first baseman that is finally coming around with Ian Desmond.

A longtime fan favorite, Carlos González (Cargo), is likely spending his last season in Colorado. The heroic outfielder chose not to sign a contract extension at the beginning of the year that would’ve placed the Venezuelan player through the end of his career in Denver. Cargo hedged his bet on himself thinking he was going to garner the attention of other teams. Sadly, his poor play for the bulk of the season may signal one of two things for the brooding veteran: a hometown discount with the Rockies or playing for a cellar-dwelling team that’s in need of a veteran voice in the clubhouse. Luckily for the Rockies, Cargo has come on in the latter part of the season and will need his clutch play if they have a chance tonight versus the Arizona Diamondbacks in a one-game playoff at 6 PM MST on TBS.
Long haired right-handed pitcher, Jon Gray (Gray Wolf), is the Colorado Rockies starting pitcher that will lead the team to glory this evening. C=T dedicates today’s mixtape to “Gray Wolf.” May his slider fool his opponents today and the Rockies’ bats be timely.
